Head of Metering

About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced Head of Metering who will be reporting directly into the Operations Director. This is an excellent opportunity to join an organisation in a time of rapidly expansion!

As Head of Metering, you first responsibility will be to build the Metering team from scratch which will include the planning, developing and implementing all processes, procedures and systems for this new business area.


  • The complete build of the function
  • Overseeing specific activities within Metering
  • Develop and manage relevant analysis and reports, including those coming from third parties like Managed Service, DC, MOP
  • Build and manage relationships with our third-party providers & key stake holders
  • Ensuring all metering data is accurate within our systems and customers are billed correctly
  • Identifying complex exceptions with industry data flows that may cause settlement and billing issue 
  • Looking at long term growth strategy as well as always looking to improve and bring new business ideas to the business
  • Managing day to day relationships with third party metering agents such as MOP/MAM and DC and complex escalations
  • Full responsibility for performance, development and operational effectiveness of the teams
  • Building & taking the new department forward
  • High level ownership - increasing quality, efficiency and productivity across all areas of responsibility
  • Implementation of metering related policy, procedures and best working practices
  • Senior position of a metering department with an Energy supplier
  • Experience of leading teams, supporting their growth and development
  • Ability to set and deliver against performance targets
  • Ability to work well under pressure
