National Account Manager (hybrid)
West Midlands

About the Role

We are recruiting for a National Account Manager to lead relationships with a specific set of retailers on behalf of our client, a leading retailer.

Salary: 55k - 65k + large bonus, car and superb benefits
Location: Hybrid in the Midlands (2 days PW in the office)

You will report to the Senior Sales Leadership in this progressive, well known and highly regarded business and will for part of an agile commercial team whose demonstrable success has ensured the organisation is experiencing a rapid period of growth and development.

Key responsibilities in role:

  • Drive best practice in stock / sales forecasting & service / availability management. This requires an eye for detail, a good understanding of the end to end supply chain and the tenacity to chase every opportunity.
  • Accurate and thorough management of account forecasts.
  • Thorough account planning and proactive management of revenue and margin gaps v’s plan and forecast. The annual business plan will be reviewed regularly to ensure all account metrics are achieved and relevant stakeholders engaged. As an induvial you will live and breathe this process.
  • Create, own and proactively manage 12 month rolling promotional and above the line plans with account objectives in mind and engaging all relevant stakeholders in the process and linking to the overall plan.
  • Deploy a ranging strategy & ‘go to market’ action plan that enables accelerated growth of solutions
  • Develop all aspects of the customer relationship from identifying new opportunities for growth through to category management of on-going product listings or new business acquisitions. A regular face-to-face account contact strategy will be required to develop and maintain the value-added approach required.
  • Maintain full profit and loss responsibility for managed accounts, driving growth by increasing profitable throughput & accurately forecasting volume, value, GM and account budgets within agreed timescales.
  • Work cross functionally with all relevant teams to proactively manage product ranges through the full planning cycle and champion your account requirements in the process. There will be a heavy emphasis on consumer / customer insight throughout.

To be successful in this role you will need the following experience and skills:

  • Experience of managing relationships with key retailers is essential
  • Robust track record of delivering account growth
  • Able to demonstrate both strategic development and hands on management of a relevant account portfolio
  • Category management experience (as an Account Manager).
